Braille: L’art au-delà du visuel

Braille: Art Beyond the Visual is a cultural mediation pilot project presented by WECAN in collaboration with the Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée and with the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal in September 2022. The project aims to create a visual art experience that is accessible to the blind and visually impaired community through the integration of braille and other tactile elements. Two sighted visual artists were paired with two non-sighted musicians for the creation of the work.

Below are three pieces I created in the context of this initiative, inspired by conversations with my partner, Alvino-Alberto Forbes. The first is a collaborative effort, with each of us contributing to its concept and creation.
